Pilates Yoga Barre Ballet Tap/Jazz Personal Training

We have something for everyone

No experience is necessary and all students work at their own level! Modifications are offered for exercises as well as options to advance your workout.

  • Pilates

    Pilates a system of exercises using special equipment, designed to improve strength, flexibility, and posture, and enhance mental awareness. Quality of movement is emphasized over quantity. These very controlled exercises work to improve overall strength as well as to  elongate muscles, improving muscle elasticity and joint mobility. A strong center or core is built by developing the deep abdominal muscles and by integrating the trunk, pelvis and shoulder girdle. Cedar Street Studio offers small group and personal training sessions on the Reformer. These sessions also incorporate mat work, large and small ball exercises, magic circle, foam roller, bands, and more.We also offer group mat classes which are an economical way to start Pilates and a great compliment to other classes or exercise. Private and semi-private lessons are by appointment. Please check the schedule for current group class times and prices. Options are available for beginners through experienced Pilates goers!   • Yoga

    Yoga classes at Cedar Street Studio are for all levels, no experience is necessary! Modifications for poses as well as options to advance your practice are offered at each class so anyone can benefit from the session. Our flow based classes mean movement moves with breath in an energizing dance like sequence. Many of us spend a lot of our day seated and a flow based class gets us up and moving! These classes train your mind: every day our brains are weaving in and out of the past, present, and future, by focusing on the body and it's movements right now, or simply focusing on the breath, we teach ourselves how to be present. Yoga allows us to find compassion for ourselves and accept who we are right now. Each class offers periods for rest which is so important in our fast pace world! Come take an hour for yourself!   • Family Fun Yoga! Cedar Street Studio offers yoga based classes for parents and kids to do together! This class is uses yoga poses to play games and have fun. Kids learn yoga and mindfulness as well as patience, body awareness, spacial awareness, and more. Together parents and kids get exercise and learn the importance of being healthy while spending time together. Please check the schedule or current class times and prices.

  • Barre class is an energizing fusion of ballet, yoga, and Pilates. This class is done mainly using the ballet barre as well as small hand weights and small balls. Additional exercises are done on the mat or in the center floor space. This class works to sculpt, tone and stretch the entire body.  Exercises are all small and very controlled placing little to no pressure on joints, ligaments, tendons or the spine. Benefits include overall toning as well as improved core strength and posture. Each class includes as stretch series to improve flexibility and range of motion.   • Ballet

    Classical Ballet Training is available for students preschool aged to adult. The ballet program offers classes year round including weekly technique classes and repertory rehearsals.Technique is the heart of ballet and students are encouraged to take both technique and repertory. During repertory class, students learn choreography and prepare for our ballet performances including our annual production of The Nutcracker and other specialty productions for the year. Combo Tap/Jazz classes are offered for dancers for all ages. This class begins with a jazz warm-up focusing on improving coordination, flexibility, and strength. Dancers work on improving their technique in turns, leaps, and extensions and also learn unique jazz/modern choreography. During the tap section students learn a variety of tap steps starting with basic moves like digs, shuffles, and flaps and progress on to more challenging steps like buffaloes, time steps, pull backs, wings, and more. Students learn important dance concepts like rhythm and syncopation while working on coordination and balance. Tap and jazz are excellent compliments to ballet and when all styles are taken simultaneously dancers are trained to be well rounded performers. Adult jazz and adult tap classes are offered as scheduled, no pre-requisites required!
