The Pilates teacher training program at Cedar Street Studio is offered in modules, making the time and financial commitment affordable. Upon successful completion of the requirements for each module, students will graduate with certificate of completion. Students can elect to continue with more modules or begin teaching within their scope of practice. Upon completion of all modules, students will have earned their comprehensive 450 hour certificate of completion and be eligible for Pilates Method Alliance Certification.
These training's provide wonderful information for students interested in deepening their understanding of Pilates, creating solid background knowledge for creating a successful home practice or adding to their Pilates understanding when in studio classes. Those who want to learn more about Pilates, but perhaps not begin a teaching career, are encouraged to register for these workshops!
Mat I
Mat I includes an introduction to the history and principles of Pilates including
scope of practice, ethics and philosophy Beginning exercises and an
introduction to intermediate level exercises with modifications are taught. An overview of
anatomy and movement principles is covered with this course. This module also includes
Breath, Anatomy and Movement Review, Pre-Pilates and Pilates Stretching
Modules. Requirements for completion:
attend all lectures/classroom hours, passing exams, completion of homework
assignments, completion of personal practice hours, completion of observation
hours, and completion of teaching hours. After completing all requirements graduates will receive their Mat Level 1 Teaching Certificate. |

Mat II
Mat II includes the intermediate and some more advanced
level exercises as well as use of props for advancing clients or providing
appropriate modifications. In addition to exercises students continue their
study of anatomy and movement as well as professionalism including scope of
practice, ethics, history of Pilates, and philosophy. Requirements for completion: attend all
lectures/classroom hours, passing exams, completion of homework assignments,
completion of personal practice hours, completion of observation hours, and
completion of teaching hours. After completing all requirements graduates will receive their Mat Level 2 Teaching Certificate. |

Mat III
Mat III includes more intermediate and advanced level
exercises as well as use of props for advancing clients or providing
appropriate modifications. With this training the final Mat exercises are
covered so that all original Pilates Mat repertoire movements are learned. In addition to exercises
students continue their study of anatomy and movement as well as
professionalism including scope of practice, eithics, history of Pilates, and philosophy.
Requirements for completion:
attend all lectures/classroom hours, passing
exams, completion of homework assignments, completion of personal practice hours,
completion of observation hours, and completion of teaching hours. After completing all requirements graduates will receive their Mat Level 3 Teaching Certificate. |
